Funded by ATP funds, the Town of Yucca Valley desired to improve pedestrian facilities around Yucca Valley Elementary School. The improvements included installation of new sidewalks, curb and gutters, driveways, signing and striping, and ADA access ramps along Pueblo Trail from Hopi Trail to Bannock Trail. The improvements provide pedestrian friendly and complete street atmosphere around the school vicinity. KOA was retained to provide professional engineering services to develop the construction Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E). In addition to the technical engineering work, the KOA team provided overall project management; prepared traffic control plans, and engineering design and support services including surveying; assisted the Town in obtaining the Authorization to Proceed with construction (E-76 documents) from Caltrans; provided engineering consultation services during the construction bidding phase; complied with all federal and state grant funding program requirements; and maintained accounting on all invoices as required for the grant funding programs.
