Lemon Avenue & SR-60 New Interchange Planning and Design
Diamond Bar, California
KOA prepared traffic-related plans, such as traffic signals, signing and striping, overhead signs and ramp metering for this project which proposed to modify the Pomona (60) Freeway interchange at Brea Canyon Road and construct a new interchange at Lemon Avenue. KOA also prepared a traffic study in support of the environmental document and a Project Report for this new freeway interchange.

Firestone and Garfield Intersection Improvements
South Gate, California
KOA's work included designing for the removal of the deteriorated asphalt pavement and full reconstruction of a roadway section, widening of southbound Garfield Avenue, traffic signal upgrades, and ADA improvements. Due to the extraordinarily high traffic impacts of this project, specifically large trucks, on the two arterials involved, and the 710 freeway immediately adjacent, the construction schedule was accelerated to only 60 calendar days and work continued day and night until completion.

North Hills Parkway Street Design Services - Phase I
Moorpark, California
KOA is designing and preparing a complete PS&E package for the North Hills Parkway, which is a new road, proposed as a 4-lane arterial roadway. Among other goals, the project involves the widening and safety upgrades of an at-grade UPRR crossing to improve traffic circulation within the City, and the construction of a railroad grade separation structure. Once all phases of this project are completed, North Hills Parkway will operate as a twin of Tierra Rejada Road, south of Los Angeles Avenue (SR-118) and change the way traffic circulates within the City.

ACE Phase II Grade Separation Traffic Study and Concept Plans
KOA evaluated 14 at-grade railroad crossings including the development of vehicular traffic and train movement forecasts; traffic delay/grade crossing queuing analyses; a California Public Utilities Commission grade separation priority list ranking of the crossings; developing grade separation concept plans and cost estimates; conceptual roadway layout plans; conceptual railroad track and shoofly plans; preparing utility relocation plans; identification of property to be acquired; and for construction detour plans.

OCTA Rose/Tustin Grade Separation PSR/PS&E Traffic Study and Design
Orange County, California
KOA prepared a traffic study to analyze the feasibility of constructing two railroad grade separations. One was in the City of Placentia and the other in Anaheim. KOA evaluated the performance of four project build alternatives, level-of-service, vehicle delay, and queue length by turn movement. KOA helped refine the proposed geometrics and prepared plans for traffic control, street lighting, and modification to a traffic signal.
