Thousand Oaks Residential and Arterial Overlay

KOA provided complete construction management and inspection services for this $7 million residential and arterial pavement rehabilitation project. Work included repair of concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, cross gutters, and driveways; pavement repairs; edge grinding; asphalt rubber hot mix overlay; striping and markings; and traffic signal loop detectors.

Jessen Drive Bridge Over Earle Canyon Replacement
La Canada Flintridge, California
This Caltrans federally funded project involves the replacement consists of the complete replacement of the historic 1940 timber structure, 40' length, with cast-in-place abutments and wing walls, precast girders, new deck pour, asphalt overlay, signage and striping, and reconfiguring of approach streets. All utilities including electrical, communication, sewer, water, and cable TV were reconfigured.

Strand Infiltration Trench Project
Hermosa Beach, California
APWA Southern California Chapter Project of the Year 2010 - Water & Wastewater

This project installed a diversion structure, pump station, and infiltration field to divert low-flow storm drain system runoff from beach areas to a subsurface percolation field. Construction took place in the developed area around the pier, requiring significant coordination with City staff, lifeguards, and businesses. Permitees include the City, Los Angeles County and the Coastal Commission.

Anaheim Convention Center Grand Plaza
Anaheim, California
The Grand Plaza will be a 100,000-square-foot outdoor and special event space located at the convention center's front entrance off of Convention Way. This new, multi-use space will create a unique Southern California outdoor environment that can be utilized year-round for a wide variety of events. KOA is providing program and construction management services for this project.

Pine Avenue Streetscape
Long Beach, California
The project goal was to improve sidewalk and pedestrian crossings with a better walking environment within the retail and restaurant district. It included increasing pedestrian commuting, accessibility, and pedestrian safety. Improvements included intersection bulb-outs, curb extensions, a redesign of the on-street parking, sidewalk widening, and pedestrian and palm tree lighting, along with other landscape amenities.

Homeland Cultural Center
Long Beach, California
KOA provided services for the new cultural center consisting of a 66-person live performance theater. KOA managed the design phase, bid period and execution of the contract, and coordinating consultants for the design team including sound, electric, HVAC, as well as soils investigation, top surveys utilities surveys. Managed the design and tenant improvement of the existing Community Center facilities including ADA improvements to restrooms, installing new drinking fountains, and adding a playground to the park area.

Traffic Signal Interconnect Links - Phase 2
Diamond Bar, California
The City of Diamond Bar constructed a traffic signal interconnect system complete with various incidental traffic signal infrastructure improvements. Work includes over 15,000 feet of conduit with conductors/cable, pullboxes, cabinets, controllers, battery backup system, and sidewalk repairs.

A Frame Parking Lot
Culver City, California
Construction included the installation of drainage improvements; curb and gutters; AC paving; striping and signage; area lighting; landscaping; construction of a trash enclosure; and installation of a pay-station. With many stakeholders in the immediate area, public relations were an important component of managing the project.
