Quarry Falls Specific Plan & Traffic Impact Study, San Diego, California
The vision for the Quarry Falls Specific Plan is to create an active, mixed-use, pedestrian friendly community in San Diego’s Mission Valley. Central to the development is a neighborhood park, with a distinctive waterfall, which serves as the main pedestrian corridor and linkage between site uses. The project is located in the heart of San Diego, on 235 acres, and includes approximately 3,400 homes, 400,000 square feet of community commercial, 100,000 square feet of civic center, a 400-room hotel, 600,000 square feet of commercial office, and a 33 acre park. It will generate approximately 60,000 vehicle trips per day.
KOA performed a myriad of services for Quarry Falls including the preparation of a traffic impact study, bicycle, pedestrian and transit planning, preliminary concept refinements and identification of critical transportation capacities. KOA is also responsible for developing transportation phasing and financial fair share plans for the project.
