Enhanced Pedestrian Crossing Study (Phase I & 11) Santa Monica, California
KOA led a multi-disciplinary team in the development of A plan for enhancement of pedestrian mobility for five major corridors in the City of Santa Monica. The project team included an Architect / Urban Planner, a Landscape Architect, and two pedestrian mobility specialists. The project addressed substantial community concerns over pedestrian safety and mobility. The project team achieved a consensus for various pedestrian circulation improvements through a series of public workshops and meetings. Recommended measures includeD an innovative "in-ground" crosswalk flasher warning system at several locations.
